Set your weekly founder calendar

Who this is for

Founder led lower-middle market companies with 5 to 50 million in annual revenue that want a repeatable week focused on outcomes.

The quick answer

Block time for customers, team, and thinking. Two to four customer touches, one leadership meeting, one one on one with each direct report, and one block for deep work. Add a weekly review of the scorecard and the top three priorities. Protect one half day for strategy or partnerships.

The method in seven steps

  1. Fix the anchor meetings
Book your leadership meeting and your one on ones at the same times each week. Keep them short and focused on decisions and support.

  2. Protect customer time
Hold two to four customer touches. Mix discovery, renewal health checks, and one executive sponsor call. Do not allow internal items to take this time.

  3. Schedule deep work
Block one long session for strategy, pricing work, or a key partnership. Make this a no meeting zone and turn off alerts.

  4. Run a weekly review
Review the executive scorecard and the top three priorities every week. Confirm owners and dates. Remove one item if the list is too long.

  5. Batch approvals and admin
Handle approvals, email, and document reviews in two fixed windows so they do not fragment your day.

  6. Leave a small buffer
Keep one short block open for urgent issues so the rest of the week stays intact.

  7. Reset on Friday
Close loops and write the first three priorities for next week so Monday starts fast.

Example

A founder at twenty four million fixed a Tuesday leadership meeting, held customer calls on Wednesday mornings, and protected a Friday morning deep work block. The team had faster decisions and customer notes were acted on within a day.

Pitfalls and fixes

  • Meetings that drift long. Time box and end with owners and dates.

  • Customer time that gets traded away. Treat it as unmovable.

  • Deep work that never happens. Protect it with a no alerts rule.
